i love the symmetry of the shot and how it is repeated both in the foreground and background

Good conversion, however I would go with a less centered with this .. I have an itch to move the centered bar to see in the background :)

I think if you hadn't got the light right on the gates this may have been a poor shot. Almost perfect symmetry and we are led nicely into the body of the church - nice spot :)

Fascinating repetitions of the motif, always leading further by a series of inversions of black and white. A picture you have to stand back from and move around in.

Blocking the view partially by looking through a keyhole, through a gate, or through a hole cut out in cardboard are all ways of directing the viewer's gaze, so you teach me. It is a tool worth understanding more about.
