 I was inspired to be silly. I went looking for a face-like loaf of bread and found this one with it's marvelous top. Then I picked up a few rolls, from which I extracted eyeballs (pumpernickel) and eyebrows (inside of challah roll) and a nose (outside of challah roll; hence the shine). Set him up on black cloth facing a window. Experimented with moving my desk lamp around to get different shadows.

If I don't amuse at least one person I will be terribly disappointed!!

PP - converted from RAW, cropped, levels, increased contrast, white balance, resized, sharpened.

I really like the idea, but I think it's a bit dark. Also, the nose should be in focus and the far left of the bread should be included.

Quite interesting. A bread owl? I think you did a good job using a type crop, which works really well in this situatiuon. Some harshness of the lighting, but overall a very nice shot.
