Merged with blending mode of difference. That's it. You probably didn't think it was that simple. Opacity was even left at 100%.

Mind you, the texture itself is made up of 5 images of light patterns in the back of my kitchen cupboard (mostly merged with darken). All texture shots were taken at ISO 1600.

I think I prefer this version. It still has wonderful color, but the slightly muted background has a more serene effect. I like all of the geometrics going on.

Different mood and feel than the other one.
It gives the impression of being more serene than
the other one. I like both of course, but
me being me, I do like the vividness of the alternate.

Both are excellent. Look to those cupboards often.
