 post challenge: So tell me, does no one actually see the eyeball in the top drop? Or the metaphor for the teardrop running down the face after coming out of the eye? The bottom drop was supposed to be a bit oof! I guess I'm just too weird and see things nobody else does. Oh well, I'll try some eye candy next.

This is hauntingly reminiscent of my "self portrait as raindrop" in concept and execution. I'm surprised I didn't notice it before. I don't mean "you copied me", I mean "you took an eerily similar approach", like we are thinking the same way, far outside the box. So I'm glad I'm not the only one. Fore reference, if you don't know that image (it was 4 years ago), here it is:



Check out the photographer's comments, and the back-and-forth in the comments thread. People have a REALLY hard time "getting" this stuff. But I "get" it and I love it.

Nice macro, only it is too blurry and there isn't alot of detail due to the fact your branch is completely i photo and everything is blurry.

This seems gray and depressing, like time is lost kinda thing.

The branch on the top of the photgraph balances the negative space in the bottom of the photograph. The contrast of the light water drop adds emphasis to the photograph.

i think this would have been stronger if the focus was on the lower drop rather than the higher one.

I like the idea here. Focus on the main drop would improve this, as would attaching the grain.
