i had to pick up ali again because her car needed to be registered and i had to get the pink slip for her because she was at work ...
in australia, to register a car, we need a pink slip which an authorised mechanic gives you if the car is roadworthy .. ..
then we need a green slip which is an insurance covering us if we injure another person besides the driver, like a pedestrian or your passenger ..
then there's the actual registration .. it adds up to a large amount of money ..

on the way to get her as i was accelerating out'v picton i noticed a cop/car in the distance .. i braked coz i'd started exceeding the speed limit just before leaving the 50 km/hr and approaching the 100km/hr speed limit .. when i passed him i noticed he was holding a radar device and he sort'v shook his finger at me .. i will find out soon if he actually caught me speeding .. they send you a ticket in the mail if they catch you with a radar ..
so i drive to campbelltown, a 45 minute drive and pick up ali .. on the way home i tell her about the cop .. i'm also shooting with the flash out the window etc .. not looking thru the viewfinder .. just hoping for the best ..

anyway .. as we approach picton i say to her that i'm gonna photograph the cop if he's still there .. he wasnt there .. which was very lucky coz afterwards ali said i'd be an idiot to take his pic coz i'd get fined and lose points off my licence .. if you get caught using a hand held device while driving you get penalised .. A LOT !!! .. i just thought it was mobile/cell phones .. i'm very lucky the cop had gone or i could'v got two tickets in one day !!!

You naughty girl! lol The cops don't pull you over in Australia? Here in the states if they catch you speeding they pull you over right then and there and give tickets. That would bite to have to wait to see if you got a ticket. Anyway, another creative process you did here. It feels like we are speeding across the land. I think the angle of the picture gives me that feel.

I'm not sure why but I really like this! The colors, the border, the textures, all just work excellent together!!

That's quite the story there Roz. That picture of him shaking his finger would have been priceless! Realy cool processing, I like the overlay.

Thanks for the reminder to get my truck inspected, I just put it in the calendar for Tuesday. This is such a beautiful sky with water and the dry interior of the car.

Shooting while driving - one of my favorite things to do!

Love your story, Roz, and all the insight about Australian motor vehicle issues.

Outstanding photo - love all the smooth gray/black interior and the speed limit sign with the blue sky. Frame and filter take the cake - awesome!!!

Can't get over the fact that the car is turned around and everything is on the other side. If I ever come to Australia and have to drive, that's really going to mess with my head. Especially shifting with the left hand and in the other direction - aaaah! I can barely tell my left from my right as it is.
