Don't worry - consistently accurate manual focus takes a lot of practice. If you are sufficiently motivated to consider it a "quest", you'll get there soon enough. You could use a different focusing screen on your 40d that could make things a bit easier to see precise focus, if you want. That being said, sharp, sharp focus is frankly overrated and sometimes a bit unreal, given certain subjects. As redjulep says, we are in the world of overlay here! :) |

I really get the sense that she was walking straight toward you in this shot. Love the way those horns just fill the entire upper frame. |

Being a UT fan, I have to love this. We see longhorns all of the time and I think they are so interesting. The layer is subtle and really adds to it. Nicely done. |
