I was visiting some family this past weekend and needed to find a good place to photograph. Since, I couldn't get the shot that I wanted b/c there was no place to pull of the road, I took the opportunity to take this pic. It was a gloomy, overcast day....right before it started to spit a little bit of snow. The bridge in the distance is also a train bridge.
I really like taking outdoor shots more than indoor. I'm also starting to learn a little bit more about post processing.
I brightened it up, decreased the shadows, added a bit of saturation, did a clarify, and sharpen. The original was underexposed.
Looking to get in the mid 5's, but my predictions are always wrong. I'm sure I'm going to get some comments about too much negative space and not being level, oh well.....both were intentional to give perspective.
And from all of the help in the forums, I can now "save" at near the 150K limit. THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HELPED!! |

I really like the perspective view here. Three nitpicks though.
1) colors need bumping up a little for impact, probably with a curves adjust would do nicely.
2) the skew needs to be a little more, so that it is obvious that it is intended, or straightened out.
3) crop a little more out of the sky, so that the horizon and subject are not so centered. |

Nice idea but my initial reaction was that it was uninteresting. It grew on me a little as I looked at it more. |
