Cool shot, I like the texture and PP to give this a drawing like effect. As for the blue spots, you could add a hue/sat layer an drop the blue/cyans and then apply a layer mask exposing only the spots so they have no blue tone. You could also just clone them out, but I kind of like them. |

I actually like how the blending modes you chose removed the color from Joyah (and that is one great portrait, by the way!!). Also it is cool how those blending modes make it look as if her arms are outside of the frame. I wouldn't mind seeing the blue blotches removed from her face, but I do like the blotches on her shirt and I like the lined texture on her face. This looks great!! |

Almost like canvas. Maybe it got left out for a season and started to weather in the sun and rain. |

Nice shot of Joyah, Charlie. When I start with an overlay that has portions that I know will obstruct the main image, I use either the clone tool or the healing brush to alter it before applying it to the image. (I also save a copy of it in the altered form if it's one that I know I'll use again, especially if the editing took a while.) If you've already applied the overlay, you can still edit out the unwanted areas by selecting just the layer that you'll be working on, and perhaps clicking off other layers to better see what you're doing. Hope this helps. :)

I am not sure what you were your end idea was but I played with your photo with those layers, I hope you don't mind. I also saved it as .PSD file if you would like it, send me a PM. :)
Basically used the frame layer in linear dodge at 40% then used the brush with different opacities to bring out the face.
Used the meshy one with pin light at 25% and erased off the skin.
I made a new layer and put in color mode, then picked up a nice redhead color and painted her hair and the edge of the frame.
Hope you don't mind. Pm if you like the file or if you want me to remove the photo. :)
