I know, it's a flower...with water drops on it, so sue me.

In my defense I didn't put the water droplets there, it rained that day :P

It's just a flower but I like it in b&w :)

This is one of those shots where the centred composition really works. I like the B&W conversion, but wonder if you could boost the whites just a little. Reminds me very much of a shot I took last autumn for the 30 day B&W side challenge - so, I don't think it matters if it is a bit of a cliche!!

lol at your comment Leah however, you can never get too much of a good thing (unless its a dpc thing). We are in a side challenge so anything goes, in fact, its good to see 'Cliché' shot here and the fotogs take on it.

The Rose has a good depth to it but would like to see some 'white' whites in the petals and centered works fine here :)

(Keep losing my comments). Like the way the interior pattern is shown and well set off by the ever so slightly textured ground. Effective and pleasing light and dark.

Beautiful, great lighting and detail and I love the centered composition.

By presenting it in B&W, the rose's texture and form is emphasized over its color. I like the fallen petals in the background.

Completely and tiotally exquisite! This is exactly the effect that I like best doing flowers. I really like how crisp this is! VERY nice!

Nice texture and detail on the flower. I agree, it's way over done but for a reason. Flowers almost always look better with water droplets on them. The detail in the BG adds a nice DOF.

I have filed suit - hey, I think it looks great for a centered composition. This is nice and the contrast is right on. Also, the little bit of detail in the background works well, as opposed to straight black.
