A fun shot with a fisheye lens during the recent Feb 08 eclipse. I saw the spider when I drove up and parked to get out and shoot the eclipse, and set this up during mid eclipse. I could not see anything in the viewfinder when I was shooting, so just looked at the results in the LCD and adjusted things till it worked. ISO 200, 30 sec at f 11 or 16, and on cam flash at -3 stops.
The lens is not listed in my profile, a 16mm f2.8 manual Nikkor Ai. It's cropped a huge amount, but I used the fisheye to get the necessary DOF and size relationship.
The breeze was moving the web gently back and forth over my head and the flash stopped it for each shot. No critters were alarmed or harmed making these images. : )

This is really cool. Now we know that the spider is bigger than the moon. Good to know. I like the leading lines and the spider looking at the moon.

Cool shot, quite creative! The moon almost looks like an egg sac. I like how the web spans the lower diagonal of the picture and slowly fades into the darkness.

Wow - this is an amazing capture, Waddy - what a trip! The POV on the web is incredible - not to mention that you got that blood moon in there. Awesome!

Brilliant shot, Waddy. What a different perspective this is. That spider was in for a surprise with that bug.

I hate pictures of spiders, but I'll make an exception for this one. Inspired shot. It reminds me of one of those legends to explain an eclipse -- something or other is eating the moon. I really like that graceful, slightly curving diagonal of the web. Nice, nice work.

Hope that spider likes orange cheese! Cool shot, nice idea.
