Man! This was hard for me to detail just the way I wanting it to be done! Layers upon layers upon layers, plus multiple incarnations using the Visible Stamp combo of keys "control, alt, shift, E" (I learned that one recently at the PhotoShop Power Tour I attended in Atlanta recently for the purpose of learning CS3-Extended...My brain STILL hurts!)
Black & White conversion, levels, contrast/brightness, Quick Select Tool (World's beyond the Magic Wand & available in PSE6.0 & CS3,) enhanced saturation, polygonal lasso tool, blur tool, smudge tool, eraser, color replacement brush, and many...many blending changes including overlay/multiple/pin light/screen.
I hope I remembered everything, but it is often a little difficult to write down the steps since I edit the way a Master Chef cooks..."a little pinch here...a little pinch there...here a little...there a little...'line upon line, precept upon precept'."
It is great FUN, but it can be majorly exhausting at times! This is one of those! :) It's what I do, and I love it! (Maybe I'll have the scores to prove it one day!) |

There's a silky feel worthy of this on the picture :) |

What a tribute! Your devotion comes through in chrome and curve metallic blush of pink. |

Wow. Love the sheen of the cars and excellent work in PS. I am taking notes and will try what I can in CS2. My guess is that the pink came in during the blending changes. |

Cool shot, I love the muted color tone on the two cars. I love old car shots and I also like the perspective you shot this with. I can see where you played with the sky a bit with PS as there are spots that don't blend as nicely as the others. I might just crop all the way down to just over the roof of the cars and eliminate the sky all together. I feel this would draw even more focus towards the cars, just a thought. |

I would be honored to own these elegant Classy Ladies, but no...they are not mine. For the past couple of years, a man owning a body detailing shop in town has parked these majesties in front. Their environment/background cause me a great deal of work (i.e.hideous power/telephone lines, etc.) Yet, just about every classic lady you see in my collection here @ DPC is from his shop.
Please, keep on enjoying them! Thanks! :) |

I too love old cars, they are just more interesting than todays cars (though my little Brabus could be out of the 60's).
Sounds like you spent a good deal of time editing this shot Stan. The sky issue on the trees and tops of the cars has been mentioned but everything else is spot on and love the softness you gave the cars. Are they yours? |

Love the subtle tones here. The faded color really works well. The angle is what brings this photo to life though. |

But... but.... they're pink! :-) I can't tell from your processing how you got pink, though. Maybe the color replacement brush? You've mentioned lots of tools I've not tried - very useful info to pass along, so thanks! |

Wow, Stan! What amazing photography! This is BEAUTIFUL! You have made your little ladies look oh-so-fine in their shiny poses. I used to have a friend who had an old old car like that (not as beautiful and fixed up as yours, but VERY cool looking). I so loved riding in that car. It was so heavy and made you feel like you were riding in a house :)
Excellent!!!!!!

Nice. Looks like a his and hers car shot..everything looks really good except I can tell where you edited around the trees and the top of the cars. Sometimes it's so tricky.. other than that I think it's a great shot. |

I like your processing. The highlights/reflections on the sheet metal, and chrome are great. Nice job. |

The perspective is what makes this nice - I like the low, centered perspective that just gives this lots of eye appeal. Nice image and wonderful cars. We had an old '55 Lincoln Continental sitting in the driveway when I was growing up - the car on the left reminds me of that. |

It was a lot of work, but it sure turned out well. Pink is perfect for the cars. I'll take the one on the right. |
