My cat on her favorite black chair. It's really my chair for the computer, but it gets lots of sun during the day while I'm at work, so she's adopted it as her own. At least she's nice enough to share it with me when I'm home by curling up on my lap. :)
The shot was lit from the left by a window, and I had a sheet of aluminum foil over a book off to the right to reflect some back onto her face. I have such a hard time getting the exposure right with the black and whites!
She was NOT very happy about a book covered in aluminum foil making it's way into "her" space, but tolerated it for a few shots.
Processing was cropping, resizing, and lots of layers with small adjustments of levels, contrast, brightness, dodge, burn, and sharpen, and then erasing the parts that I didn't want affected. Cloned out a few little extra fur bits and dust speckles. Added the border and saved for web.
I haven't entered in a while, but it's been on my to-do list to get back into taking pictures. I figured I at least had the "props" at home for this challenge, so why not. I'm not expecting a great score, but hopefully something to stay above my average.
