We took the kids to the Kids Museum today. This is the inside of a play ship, one of the many interactive exhibits.
I have a ton of pictures of the girls, but decided to try post something different. We got there a bit late and ended up being the last out. The upstairs has a lot of natural light and I wanted to try some HDR in bright light instead of my typical sunset. Many of the those shots don't look quite right to me. I think HDR works much better with the brighter light, as evidenced here. I forgot to take the camera off ISO 400 because I was shooting without the flash. OOPS.
My goal was to achieve a natural effect, unlike some overdone HDR. Any comments on it would be appreciated.

First of all - this is like the best playroom ever. I would have died for something like this as a kid.
Now the processing is so interesting, seeing how you did HDR, and yet it doesn't look like your typical HDR. However, knowing you did it I can tell that the light is extremely airy. Everything is more 3D and pops out of the picture more than if you hadn't used that method, I image. It makes for a very good image, Ken - almost like I'm right there.
I agree with aguapreta -- the HDR is not obtrusive here. Then I noticed that you used seven exposures. I find that the more exposures I use, the better the result, but I've never done seven. This looks like a very natural, very clean, well-lit shot with some great shadows on the floor.
