 i'm proud of my last minute idea. a spinning top is not an easy subject. it doesn't look like it, but this top is just at the end of its last upright spin. a half second later it flipped over and shot off of the table.

managed most of the basics in ACR.

cropped
cloned out bits of dust
added slight gaussian blur
neat image
sharpen

I'm surprised this didn't do better (not that 6.3137 is a bad score - I just expected more and a least a top 10)

Anyway, it a great shot and a very original take on the challenge. Well done :)

I really like this a lot particularly the contrast between the smooth texture of the surface and the wooden, hand-coloured top. My only minor negative is that the pale stripe of the surface falls at the top right of the image because it kind of gets lost there and makes the background seem less complete, less rectangular. I think it would be worth having one of the stronger colours at the edges to make sure the edges are defined.

Really beautiful depth of field and exciting use of color. Your lighting is excellent as well. I love the texture of the wood, I sort of wish i could see the texture of whatever is on the bottom
