 Taken in my bedroom, using a small spotlight from an IKEA lamp with a dark brown pillow case as the back drop. Had to use a ball cap to keep the light off of the backdrop because it was coming out way too light compared to the darkness of the beer.

After about 50 shots trying to get 'perfect head', it hit me that the fading foam was a very compelling, contrasting element to an otherwise very dark image, so that became the focus.

I'm still getting used to the power of photoshop and think I took pretty good strides with this shot, particularly with USM and Raw conversion. Didn't really take advantage of the Advanced Editing rules, but I really don't think this image needed it. Then again, maybe it would have.

I'd love to know what I could have done better. I really love the comments and critiques. It's all about improving!

I really like this, and I like thebubbles sticking to the glass to create an area of focus.

great shot. I'm going to have to deduct points for a bad taste in beer though :) J/K

This is very sharp and well done. I like the small line of the cup on the edge of the glass that seperates the two dark colors, that really makes the picture for me as well as the contrasting light bubbles to your overall dark picture. Well done!

GODDAMN BEAUTIFUL. I really like this shot and not just because it's Guinness (but it helps). I love how the glass fades into the background (great use of depth of field) and the lighting is amazing. It really evokes a mood and a feeling. Great shot!
