This portico is within the Former Royal Naval College in Greenwich London. Originally built as a hospital in 1694 for the relief and support of seamen and their dependants it became the Royal Naval College in 1873. In 1998 the Royal Navy left Greenwich and the complex was handed over to the Greenwich Foundation. It is currently used by the University of Greenwich and the Trinity College of Music.

Taken during London DPC GTG in Greenwich, London.

Was titled 8c when first uploaded. Border now changed for printing purposes.

9, I very much like the pillars and their shadows. It's a strong composition with nice tones. The only thing I don't like is the building in the back. I know you have no control over that, but somehow it detracts from the power nad strength of the pillars. The round windows are also trying very hard to steal the focus, although you've kept them in their place!

Personnally, I don't think the border adds anything, I would have kept it a simple black line.

Kavey sorry I didn't say one thing the border ditch them they don't work. I don't think border work for images very often and with your work they are quite distracting you have to train your eye to focus more on the meat of the image and not to wonder toward the border. I think what destroys your composition with this particular image maybe nobody else will tell you is that you have no strong point of view. No place that stand out for the beginning and an abrupt end that ends without cascading any depth to the image. Its like a mattise painting where the 3D world meets the 2D. The designer doesn't quite make the transitional escape or approach to showing the extended sketch of the whole scene. I can tell you are the author of both images because they both show the same insight and draw for perspective both are missing a fleshy body and only have a shell. Thank you for sharing your work.

Another very strong shot. The aspect is really nice, and although I'm not normally keen on borders the same colour as the shot, this works nicely for me (just dark enough to hold the pic in). I'd possibly have given this a 7. Maybe 8 depending on the competition.

I had posted that I agreed with Faidoi on this image. I like the suggestion of background and the implied richness altogether

I really like the perspective and how the shadows are in the frame. The light is a little bit overexposed (if I was to be picky). I love the tone, its very beautiful and fits well with the atmosphere of the scene. Nice choice of border too. I would give it a 9

Great photo overall...

Good luck :)

8c.jpg is totally awesome. "10" I like the tone. Excellent contrast. Maybe cut a bit off the very bottom. I don't know which one you entered but this one is very good.
