Taken on a recent photo-trip to this cathedral - I wonder if anyone will recognise it after my recent peace entry (which did really badly). :) In the end, I prefer this shot by far to my peace entry, but that's probably a lot due to advanced editing. A little work really brought out the mood of this shot. I did a colour edit of this shot, but the clashing colours were far too strong for the mood here, and in the end, I much prefer the BW version. I like the imbalance in the light here, and the mix of broad and detailed areas. My least favourite thing about this image is the not-quite square crop. I would prefer totally square, but I didn't want to cut more of the top or bottom, and the sides had no more room.

If anyone likes this image to look at it long enough, you might notice two little old ladies having a chat in the back pews. :) It's a bit like a Where's Wally/Waldo image. I thought about titling it "Shared solitude" in their honour, with the dual meaning of solitude with God. However, in the end, I decided that any title detracts from the image.

Editing was perspective correction, green-filtered BW conversion, D&B, a touch of soft-focus, and some sharpening.

excellent tight framing and simplicity you've achieved here, surprised it didn't place higher but still a great score

Nice shot surf! I like the three distinct surfaces.

this stands out from other church interior shots. perhaps it's something to do with the lack of symmetry and the black and white.
