Shot on a snowshoe hike above Mt. Baker Ski Area on a rare clear Febraury day.
Pretty simple processing.
Convert from RAW in RSP setting: Color Temp 7650, Tint -14, Exp. Comp +.31, Fill +15, Shadow Cont. +17, Highlight Cont. -14, Custom Curve Med Contrast, Save as TIFF
Clean in Noise Ninja on auto
Process in PSE6: contrast layer, brightness layer, convert to B/W, more contrast and brightness, resize, USM, border
Post Challenge:
I agree that this would have been better if I stood out more from the background. I should have stood in front of the white part of the mountain in the backgroud but being alone made it a tough self portrait and get back in my spot with snowshoes on. Anyway, here is the color version where I do stand out better.

| Great AA lookalike. I like the contrast but I wish the skier was easier to spot. The snow could've been half to two thirds of a stop overexposed to get it really white, now it looks mostly grey except for the highlights in the tracks. |

| 8 - This gracing an office, or a home, make an inspirational image - even as a 'many more mountains to climb'. Be nice to see more definition on the mountaineer, but that's likely 'another image'. |

| I was just thinking how this could be enhanced with a person standing in the photo somewhere (I was thinking lower right) and almost voted to move on...then I noticed the person at the crest. Wow. He really blends in with the B/W. |

| The scene here is really good. It needed something in the front for added interest but the person blends in too much for me. |

| What a great tree and landscape. I wish the guy stood out from the background just a little more - I didn't notice him at first. Very pretty. |
