With coiled energy
The hungry hawk
watches, waits. Ready to spring.

A word of explanation here. When I first heard of this side-challenge I thought we were to write the prose or poetry accompanying our images. Since then, I learned that it was perfectly okay to illustrate someone else's words. Still, some long unused portions of my mind are beginning to lose their rust spots, and I'm going to try to keep my stuff original. It may be little more (or less) than doggerel at times, but what the heck. this is all fun.

I used these two pictures: and and processed them one on top of the other with "Difference" blending mode. Each transposition gave a different result, and because they were each so beautiful and jewel-like, I simply used an inset to show the pair.

To make a thing be that which it is not, and in so doing to help us see that which it really is.

I'm fascinated with the way the juxtaposition and blending of the coils and the feathers turned out. Fascinated! And perfectly chosen words.

Your overlay simultaneously depicts the still patience and the swift energy of the hawk. Very nice.

I like how portions of your mind are losing their rust spots. :o) This is really stoking the creativity fires, isn't it?

Love your image and the words. It's dynamic and strong.

The colors are rich and jewel toned like an Indian Batik. Glad you decided to join in!!!
