Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bedsitter people look back and lament
Another day's useless energy spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is gray and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

Days of the Future Passed, The Moody Blues

The moon here somehow looks lonely, which made me wonder if it is. Wondering is good.

maybe there should be more color in other spots too, though.

I like the color. It makes me think that this is an old and faded thing that used to have a lot more color.

As I started to read the words, I could HEAR them, and oh oh OH how well your photograph suits!

A wonderful combination of lyric and image. And I'll concur resoundingly with the others that this challenge is open to all sorts of interpretation. Variety is what will make this interesting, so please keep posting! :)

This image is amazing - beautiful the words. I remember the Moody Blues from when I was wee. Those were times...

OH GOD - I have such a memory ( I can't share in polite company LOL) of "Nights in White Satin." MAN - you nailed it, but please please do add some humor to this challenge. I love the Lumberjack Song and hope you will choose to put it in. I am thinking of doing some funny limericks, so the tide may turn to laughter in a day or too. MAN this is killer though. I adore it.
