| I have no clue about the song lol. This looks more like a lemon masacre hehe. The big knife in the background, the lemon shards, the textured grooves, the gutted lemon... the cool bokeh! Lots of interesting stuff to see in this photo. |

Oh boooo. there was lots of lemon songs portrayed and this was my second favourite I cant believe it scored so low and finished 130/139
I love the fact that the lemon has been zested and squeezed (both rock and roll and quite original in terms of the way lemons are normally depicted on DPC)
I thought this had a nice textured feel to it (especially the pith on the inside of the lemon |

Interesting take -- makes me wonder what's cooking. :-)
My friend Tom, who has been both an industrial analytical chemist and professional cook, recommends only using organic fruit in any recipe calling for citrus peel, as most of the nasty chemicals used in growing it are oil-soluble, and may remain present within the rind even after carefully washing the surface. |

55 Oops edited to add comment that made sense. Came back after an initial sort through all the images to bump this interesting shot up, really seemed to fit the challenge.

That's an ugly looking lemon. :)
I like the DOF but the background is a little distracting. The knife is OK but the other lemon halves (??) and the red thing don't work for me. |

| The color is a bit offputting. The focus is also off. I think lighting the background (fade to white) may have helped, but focus and lighting is key. |
