As these images show up on my screen*, I'm beginning to realize it's time to 'seize the moment' and go with the fleeting idea that sometimes attaches itself to the image.

Then, in another thread, Blending Modes, fixedintime described using gaussian blur on a layer before using a blending mode. Had to try it, and this guy begged for the treatment.

So, to the original (sharpened the bird), I added a duplicate layer, used gaussian blur, and then Hard Light. Erased the crown to make it shine, and that's all.

It seemed that it may be easiest for me to append the text directly to the image, so this is a trial run at doing that.

Undoubtedly more storytelling than anyone wanted to hear, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
:=))

*Oh yes, the footnote: Seems that one of the gadgets Google provides is a little slideshow, on my desktop, of images from my own picture files. It shows images that are unprocessed and straight out of the camera from day one of my digital camera ownership. You know, some aren't half bad. (Um, some are.)

Sitting in the lonely tree
doesn't talk to you or me
white as the snow
with feathery crown
