 Yes, I used a very light touch on one of the filters that played with the branches. It was done on purpose, my artsy fartsy side comes out a little too often in these side challenges.

Fog, Inside and Out

i lazily kick aside
the snaking tendrils of mist,
which turn slowly at my feet,
watching them break and fade
into the background silence
as fog consumes my journey to work.
an occasional shape breaches this white sea
piercing through unreal murk,
and is seen as:
first a darkening of the dirty white,
followed suddenly by a shock of detail
misplaced against such uniformity
before being lost
into nothingness once more.
i lose myself to this fog,
as it seeps into my thoughts
so that on this morning,
even the memory of distant sun
cannot penetrate the mist
which collects around my mind

Well thought out and executed, with wonderful touches such as the words following the river's water and avoiding the branches below.

a lovely shot, and a super poem. the little person emerging from the fog is great, subtle but vital. did you use a filter of some kind on the top of the image - there's something happening to the top branches of the trees? or perhaps it's a reducing issue - i find that reducing in 500 pixel increments greatly reduces any jpeg jaggies on fine lines.

I love the lone person coming from the mist dwarfed by the big trees; this is a very very cool image! Great verse to go along.
