 I actually took this one in January of 2008. I forgot to reset the camera date. This is a rare shot for me since we rarely get sunlight and snow at the same time. A slate gray sky is the norm here. I didn't get fancy with the camera settings but I did use a UV filter.

I don't think it looks too bad. I guess the only problem with working with this image in black and white is the mist. I think it throws the contrast a little but I agree it's cool to play with. I have others from this day, I just haven't had the time to upload them yet.

That is a pretty image. Lovely golden light. I like the shape of the landscape especially the meadow in the foreground and the nearside tree. The photo offers plenty of opportunities for conversion into b/w, duotone etc and as a background for graphics work. I had a play with it - not so good but interesting though...
