Had my tripod in the car to shoot something else which didn't pan out, and on my way home took the long route and got to the lake just at sunset. Deliberately underexposed to get the sunset which was appropriately lurid (not really to my taste, plus I have issues with colour period), so decided to bring up the interesting tree in pp (the usual: channel mixer, curves, usm) but there was a lot of noise which you can still see but which I sort of mitigated with this canvas texture, but I can't remember exactly what I did, just played around. And let it sit. I think I like it because it attempts more than my usual.

Oh, I like this one very much. I don't know what you call that effect you did to it, but I really like it.

LOL! I get a kick out of your notes. I do that too, sometimes, just play until I get tired of playing then stop. I like the texture but maybe a bit more subtly applied and I'd like to see it lightened just a tad. I took it into PS and added a bit on the light end with levels - gives it a completely different feel. Try it and see what you think.

Beautiful tree, although a little dark.

This photo looks like my main problem the coming two weeks (just got an official warning :-(. How to remove such a nice thing?
Note1: To be removed: .
Note2: I like your photo a lot better.

scary looking tree there.. I think it needs more contrast..almost to dark and gray for me. Beautiful area!
