 One of a zillion (give or take) Green Anole lizards in my back yard. Shot with 10D, Sigma 50-500 @ 417mm from about 8ft. Cropped, cloned out a couple of tiny misplaced leaf tips at the nose of the lizard, bumped up the saturation, Neat-Imaged, sharpened, and resized.

Perhaps a bit common for this publication, but a nice shot and dynamic composition. Light is a little flat. Good job with the cropping. THANK YOU for not strapping a fat yellow border around this!

Very clear crisp shot. If it had the entire body (with the full tail), it would have faired very high from me. It appears you compromised the shot and sacrificed in favor of the precision close up. . . or this is all you got and went with it. In short - it's cut off. Still, nicely done. Good luck.

The clarity and DOF is remarkable. Background is appropriate. The diagonal composition is very pleasing. Could have had a whole body exposure but not much is lost even without the tail. Space for the title is more than enough. A ten!

Where's the big yellow border!!!! JK, this is very nice. The blurred leaves in the background look kinda weird. Did you blur them manually in PS? If so, you should not have. The rest is great.

The composition and aspect ration is perfect for a magazine cover. I also really like the soft colors and the background. My only critique would be your choice of magazine title. "Reptile Hobbyist" or "Reptile & Amphibian" would have been better suited. But the again, this isn't a photo title contest.
