 I miss those years of wonder
when every moment
was an enchanting gift
when boys were captivated
for hours
by the blink of a firefly

I long for those days
of pure leisure
when we would lie
on our backs
staring at the clouds
seeing elephants
and magical beasts

Those moments fade away
but etch a memory or two
to appear unexpectedly
when we are in need
of a nostalgic smile

I love the wedge of light coming through the umbrella that shines upon that gorgeous child! Of course his expression is indeed one of wonderment -- fantastic! Finally, your words make me smile, those were indeed sweet memories :-)

Yes! I love that we both had "wonder" as a theme for today. :) What a magical portrait. His eyes are just sparkling and truly do look full of wonder.

So enchanting a capture it almost doesn't need words. Your title is good, I also think Song without Words, Songs of Innocence, even Eyes That HATH Seen... Certainly a picture for all time.

There are days where my daughter needs nothing more than a packet of tissues or an umbrella. What a wonderful verse to match the memory that he will hopefully have later in life. A gift, as such, in words and image, to him, and to us.
