This was a fun series to shoot. I found a spot on the trail where it turned sharp to the right. I set up low on a tripod using my 70-200. The dogs were moving fast almost straight at me so I decided to use manual focus. I pre-focused about 20ft out and used a release to shoot a burst of about 3 frames as the dogs approached the spot.

I used my standard conversion for the B&W (Adjustment Layers, levels and gradient map). Here’s my free stuffy converted as well.

Oh wow! What a cool photo. Look at the DRIVEN look in those dogs' eyes. Man, they are IN their element, aren't they? And you have captured it beautifully!

What a great action shot, I love the crazed, energy look you captured in their eyes. You captured well what these dogs love to do, great shot!

Great shot - you did a great job capturing the various expressions on the dogs faces. I do really like this a lot.

You got a 9 from me on your FS entry - I loved the energy of it! This one is just as energetic - perhaps more so in B&W because it focuses more on that energy. You got some great shots here - very nice work. That lead dog on the left is practically jumping out of the frame.

lead dog on the left look like he has rabies! Great action shot and the low angle makes this work really well.

Love that crazy energy the dogs have - it comes across very well in these photos. BW is an interesting choice and it works.

Really great action shot, after just watching Snow Dogs with my kids recently, this is awesome. What a great perspective to get all of the dogs and sled, really well done.

Great shot of running dogs again. Seems wonderful (but cold) to look at in real life. I like the focus, knowing how difficult this can be with fast moving objects. But, as with your free study shot, I don't like the thick black border.

Good action shot. The front left dog looks like he's enjoying himself! Nice composition & framing. With the snow & a black dog in frame, you've done an excellent job on the focus & exposure. I wonder if the upper 1/3 could do with a bit more contrast?
