Another Title: Pollution Isn't Pretty.

Well, I can't believe I'm entering a picture of Dog Poop in this challenge. It actually looks more artistic and well done than any of the other pictures I took for this challenge. The potato chip wrapper in the flowing stream looked dreadful, the cigarette butts looked so tacky and unartistic. If I may say so myself, this picture of dog poop is quite well done - photographically speaking! I like the dead leaves on the poop and the foreground and background bokeh really add to it, I think. Also, the lighting seems just right to convey the dismal sadness of big heaps of poop on the sidewalk.

This is along the Riverwalk near downtown Salida, Colorado. The weather was really dismal when my husband and I were there walking around on Saturday but the gray light suited the depressingness of seeing large piles of dog poop along the river walk. The city has a free bag dispenser at the beginning of the walk and we always take a bag and clean up after our little Cairn Terrier if she goes poop but a lot of people with much bigger dogs obviously don't! It is such a mess and so stinky as well.

As far as pollution goes, I guess it's not something major but it's the kind of pollution that all of us that are pet owners can help end.

This might get a very low score but I really don't mind as I think it suits the challenge well, is fairly well taken and it's a kind of pollution that upsets me and wouldn't even exist if people would be responsible with their pets.

Sammie, This is funny. I can't believe you entered this one. Still laughing. I will be in the Valley on April 9th for evening meeting, maybe lunch? Van

Looks like sh$%. Sorry I had to say it!
Perhaps having a bigger depth of field would have helped. Having the ground out of focus so close to the main object detracts from the photo.

I was waiting for one like this. Cool shot, I could almost smell it. I would've liked to have seen more of the surroundings.

Hope you don't get a crappy score because of the subject matter. Yes, pun intended.

At least this will eventually wash away or decompose... pretty nasty stuff - can almost see what he had for lunch!

WOW, a pile of pooh, I think we've hit rock bottom. I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me chuckle.

This photograph is more repulsive than it is artistic. Maybe if you had more rich colors it would be nicer? Also fecal matter is not pollution because it disintergrates into the ground and actually turns into nutrients. :)

I've never seen dog poop look so arty! lol.

Seriously though, it's a good message even if it's not too good to look at. Hate it when pet owners are careless.
