 Houston, one of the most polluted cities in the United States. When rollover came last week and I saw that pollution was one of the options, I couldn’t resist than think of one place, Texas City.

Some of you might recall in the news the BP plant explosion. Texas City was the place it happened. The city is refinery heaven. You see them from miles away.

I spent the afternoon in Texas City trying to catch this shot. I was on the Texas City Dike (over 3 miles long dike) and I saw the refineries from afar. I waited and grabbed the shot.

The trip made me think a little. We as humans are the animal in this world that is massively polluting our environment. We are being careless. I saw sewage lines being dumped into the bay; I saw dead pelicans floating in the water and all sake of modern society. This is a serious problem that we are facing, and not one with an easy solution.

I just hope that one day we realize that we need to stop polluting our environment. Because do not own the earth we live on, we are simply borrowing it from our children.

The background of the sunset causes the exhaust to stand out even more. The water in the front is also a nice touch, but some of it could have been cropped out.

Great color and compostion involved The smoke has great from and shape and helps to lead the eye across the photo. great.

Nice sunset, The colors have that Toxic air look to them. i would have liked to see less of the water though, it's just very grey and the teture and sense of movement is a bit distracting from the factories.

i like the colors a lot in this. and how the buildings are shadowed, but not completely. It helps bring out the detail and focus on the pollution. Nice job
