 Oh my, it looked SO much better before I resized it. Normally it's not a problem with my images but with this one I got so many jagged edges. I tried to go in and spot correct it and I hope I did okay.

This is actually my house. We moved recently. :-)

A bit of planning did go into this shot. I arranged the curtains a little so that there would be outside sunlight (soft, in the afternoon) coming into the room (although you can't see the sliding window/door in the shot) and I stood on a chair (it tried to roll away! but I was careful and subdued it haha!) to get the perspective I wanted.

I tried to make it look like a nice image, even though the subject matter isn't normally photo material. I hope the duotone processing, vinetting, high contrast, etc, will all add up to an image that people will at least not cringe at. :-D

As often as I move, I can totally understand the harshness of that environment. Totally. You knew where things were before (more or less) and now you have to try to put them in relatively corresponding places or you'll never be able to find them again. Or maybe that only happens as you get older. :-) Enjoy the unpacking, and enjoy the new place!

I like your processing, Kelly. Clutter is what you wanted to show, and you did a good job with this scene. I like the high angle you used. Too bad voters don't like cluttered images, and probably didn't make an exception for this challenge. Anyway I hope you get things straightened out soon -- I don't like thinking of you in a "harsh environment".
