I like little pussy,
Her coat is so warm,
And if I don't hurt her,
She'll do me no harm.
She shall sit by my side,
And I'll give her some food,
And she will love me,
Because I am good.
I'll pat little pussy,
And then she will purr,
And thus show her thanks,
For my kindness to her.
I'll not pinch her ears
Nor tread on her paw,
Lest I should provoke her
To use her sharp claw.
I never will vex her
Nor make her displeased,
For puss does not like
To be worried or teased.
So I'll not pull her tail,
Nor drive her away,
But pussy and I
Very gently will play
From Mother Goose complete Melodies, Jingles and Rhymes
A 1918 edition, which belonged to my mother, given to her by her grandmother.
I photographed the page and used the first three verses as an overlay for "little pussy", who is in fact Gray Kitty. I found him perched in the empty flower pot (there's only dirt in there), staring in the window.
Here you see him having a hiss at my Cosima, who was returning the compliment from the inside.
I love how evil and demonic Gray Kitty looks! Very fun to pair this demon cat with that poem, which is all about how you better not piss off a cat or you're in deep s**t! Also, at the backside of the rectangular thing, what is it, wooden planter? Anyway, it looks like a little mouse with big ears peeking over the back of it (right under the letter 'm').
lol .. that cat in the pot ..
love the poem combined with this photograph/process ...
i'm starting to sound repetitive .. oh well .. its an excellent image alicia .. and the process is just wonderful with the aged look .. very fitting .. :)
