Thanks for taking the time to reply - I wasn't sure what looked photoshopped. Thanks again!

Funny to me anyone would see this and think Photoshop. I know we all have our own minds-eye and it sees things differently. It's an amazing, colorful, shot. I hope to see the Texas Blue-Bonnets in bloom.

Sorry Gordon for my confusing comment.

I thought the DOF of the flowers looked odd. Almost like extra flowers had been added to the foreground and blurred. The placing of the single red flower among the blue looked too good to be true too. I see now that with your super dooper camera, the perfect location and the patiece of a patient saint that this was a genuuine stunning photo. I wouldnt have changed my score either way since I voted on it's effectiveness as a magazine cover and not on my (false) perceptions of post shot editing. Well done again.

Hope that clears things up....and now onto motion blur

I wondered about the 'lots' of photoshopping too.

It was cropped, resized and sharpened and that's it.

What is so obvious? I must be missing something..?

Anyway, Gordon - great shot! Really really (yes I really) like the inclusion of those two little wasps/hornets, really kicks this image off. One could even say it's kind of like a living leading line ;)

A good clear colorful picture that is sure to catch the attention of the observer and increase sales. I think this is one of the most effective entries into this challenge.

Great photo, I really dislike your border though... I would have given more points without it. It is just too distracting.

This would be a great shot if not for the out of focus flowers at the bottom. It still is a really nice shot.

Nice capture of the hummer! I would have liked it better cropping out the very front flowers. I think they are so large and out of focus that they are a distraction to the rest of the photo, which is very nice.

well captured shot, but lacks a central point of focus, just a little cluttered.

What a wonderful capture, humming bird and bees. Wish for more DOF tho.

Wonderful Blue Bonnets....great humming bird and a couple bees too ! How great is that? I tried to lay in the wild flowers and take a photo for Texas Highways and all I got was ants and crappy shots....heh

Fantastic photo...good luck !

The levels are a bit high here, but this photo composition is amazing. Great capture. Try toning down the levels to add some more 'dark' areas in.

This is an excellent picture! But I feel like the title collides with the presence of the hummingbird. The hummingbird is the subject to my eye. I would give a 10 with a better title - but this is still a well deserved 9(IMO). Good luck!

Nice... too bad the bird doen't "pop" out of the image more.

Bit of competition going on there between the bird and bee.
Great capture

That is outstanding! A humming bird plus a bee! Love the lightness to the image and the fact that the dof has blurred the flowers in the forground but the subject is not at all blocked.
