 A church on the outskirts of Raetihi. Raetihi is a small town near Mount Ruapehu in the middle of New Zealand's North Island. Mount Ruapehu is the only mountain in the North Island that can be skied in winter and it is also an active volcano. A few years back it erupted during the ski season. My father-in-law lives in Raetihi and we were there for a week when this was taken. This is a Ratana Church. The morning was foggy and there was a wonderful golden light as the sun rose. This made some great colours but also meant the sky behind the church is not the nice blue it was an hour or so later. The shots with the blue sky didn't grab me like the colours in this one did.

Top 10 again! I think you made the right decision on this one. Part of the appeal is the colour of that sky against the landscape. Great stuff.

Nice image. I would prefer to see the top cropped to a bit above the telephone pole as the empty sky doesn't add much.

Slight over-saturation aside, this is a beautiful comp and scene. More natural looking would be a bonus here, but this is hard to complain about. Very nice!!

a pity the electrical pole/lines are in the shot really takes away from this stunning scene; your composition is perfect and the light is so pleasing

well balanced and great leading lines. mmm I think the only thing is the fence really isnt so much the main focus of the photo or like you cant really get a feel of the fences. great photo over all though
