this entry is dedicated to my grandpa, who worked for the "wismut" uranium mining for over 30 years. he still lives in this area, where you can still see many stockpiles of stones and rubble and where you can even find radiactivity from the pitchblende. my grandparents had their 60th wedding anniversary this weekend and we visited them and walked around this old mining area, while my granpa talked about past times :)

i had a whole other idea in my head for this challenge, but coulnd'nt pull it off because i was a little busy and so was my model linda...

I'm very glad your model was busy - this is wonderful.

Art speaks differently to different people.

I really like the angle you chose and the openness of the photograph.

Brilliant to capture a portrait at this angle. An eight for you.

I love the literally edgy composition.

Ver bice subtle image and an interesting POV. The harsh white (grey) sky has actually contributed to the image by giving the subject a degree more pop, perhaps a shame there is not a colliery wheel in the background - although a counter argument could be made that a touch of subtlty is a good thing

Very nice portrait

without the title we'd know nothing about him. crop is quite unfortunate, contrast is way too high

Beautiful angle and toning but he looks a little bit lost in the sky. I do like the negative space but you may need a bit more of the Miner in frame.

This would score more highly if you could clearly see the "Environment" that he's in.

lovely portrait, but the environment does not tell me much about the subject

The portrait is strong, but I wouldn't have known "miner" without the title.

This angle shows a different type of story on the miner. Good work.

some sort of mine related silhouette would really fill that sky well
