perhaps using a more contrasting background would have made the carrot stand out more and appear crisper (no pun intended! :) around the edges. |

This is an example of photography 101 ignored. If you are going to ignore all the rules, you better have a good reason. First, don't center the subject in the frame. Second, light the subject properly to create a mood or to express an emotion. Third, well, don't photograph sweaty carrots made of icing and call it art...cuz it ain't. |

clean picture, not a very interesting composition |

Stark, simple, beautiful. Would probably have more interest if it were offcenter and maybe arranged in a diagonal fashion. But still, it is a very well thought of entry to the challenge. |

Its orange but the composition lacks appeal... its too centered and the contrast is too high. Good effort though! |

Nice plain background. However: subject is centered which is uninteresting, the lighting is harsh, and there is nothing to make me want to score this highly at all. Score: 2 |

Think the image would benifit from a tighter crop |

Here the rule of thirds would of helped your shot......dead center is not working. Also check your levels with Photoshop or in your camera...the background is blueish. |

very blah compositon -- how to add drama is the big question for you. possibly short DOF, angle the carrot in the frame, shoot it in context (the texture of cake icing would add a lot of interest). |
