I used to eat at La Pantera Cafe when I was a kid. The restaurant closed years and years ago, but the sign has remained as a beacon to my past. Yesterday, as I was on my walkabout, I saw three guys up on a lift working to remove the sign from the building. Brought a tear to my eye. Another piece of old San Francisco heading to the dust bin.

Lots of signs here. In combination with your story, it's a great photo. Nice to look back at some times and remembering the past.

How amazing you happened to go there on the very day they were dismantling the sign. It is sad to see our past disappear before our eyes, but on the bright side...something good may come in it's place.
I like the juxtaposition of all the different signs in your photo. It's as though they're all shouting to get our attention, but because of your story the only one that means anything is La Pantera Cafe.

Your picture is well done and I love the look of these old signs. But it's the story behind this that makes this special; it reminds me to to take those few extra minutes when I'm in my hometown to look around at all those old buildings that are slowing disappearing.

I think this is a good shot. You've got the sign, the name of the street, very good color and light, and somehow the "End Fresno" seems fitting for what you've captured. A good but sad story to go along with your shot. Seems a lot of stuff is going by the wayside these days in favor of mass-produced same-everywhere kind of places. Very sad indeed.
