 Alternate frame of a shot I posted in the 30 Day Macro side challenge. A small field of orange flowers just outside of Jack London's cabin on the ranch he lived and worked in the final years of his short life. Beautiful spring day, so I laid down prone in the grass and grabbed a couple quick picks as we wandered by on our hike, not thinking this would be my free study entry for this month.

I like the bokeh on these shots; popped the rings a bit by boosting midtone contrast in the shadow/hilite adjustments. A bit of a saturation boost, decreased lightness to balance the image, a high pass filter before resizing, some USM and Neat Image after.

Beautiful color contrasts and a strong composition. I like the way the OOF flowers and greenery help provide a place for the star attraction.

Nicely done & the background works nicely also. A little narrower on the black border would have been more pleaseing to my eye.
