Didn't want to enter patterns, couldn't convince Deb to help me re-enact the Lennon and Ono curled together on a bed shots of the 70s.
Getting the exposure right with the lighting was horrible. And the bottom right hand corner wasn't showing in my viewfinder (grrr) but I didn't want to crop it out. I know it's really distracting...not much I can do other than reshoot and I really don't feel strongly enough about the image to do it.
PP: convert from raw, levels, b&w convert, greyscale, duotone, lab color (nightmares in conversion), border, resize, sharpen, usm, save for web.
Post Challenge: Some of the frankly insane comments made the poor score much easier to take! I didn't expect much because this isn't eye candy and squeaky clean for the DPC voter. It's a great shot imho...too many DNMCs from closed minds. Open your mind and your aperture will follow, eeejits :P
1. NO I AM NOT MASTURBATING! If I was it certainly wouldn't be over a book entitled "Light, Science and Magic"
2. NO I AM NOT THE GUY WHO SHOT HIS PENIS! Shooting genitalia is against DPC rules. Besides, I'm not sure DPC is ready for my schlong.
Intimacy can also include an intimate moment with a book, or a private moment (being on the toilet). Two intimacies for the price of one, but none for many voters. Still, it was fun and all eye candy and no art makes quasi a dull boy. |

| I like the exposure, the choice of black and white, the perspective and the way the straight lines curve on the sides. The only thing I dislike is the subject - but that's not why I'm giving you a DNMC and a low score. I've got to say DNMC overall because there's nothing intimate about it. Maybe you were thinking "private?" Ok, question. Is he shitting or masturbating? If the latter, then I guess you're making a joke about how photography gets him off. In that case, it could be shoe-horned into the challenge. But, if that's the case, I would recommend against putting him on the toilet, because, if he's shitting, it's a DNMC. I wish I knew what you were up to before I scored this one. |

| HAHA. what an awesome wide angle image. Very unique take on intimacy, but really...that is as intimate and vulnerable as someone can get without being sick in bed all snotty and throwing up. Nice bw |
