The hard light certainly creates an effect here. I bet a companion photo with soft light would be just as interesting, but way different. |

I like the choice of harsh lighting and strong contrast. This has a gothic feel to it, nicely done. |

Very nice and very dramatic.
The shadows and light give the subject a 'souless' look (not that they are , im sure they are a fine person) |

wow! this is quite intense. the facial expression (or is it expressionless), the harsh lighting, the fact that we can barely see one eye...it all creates a 'hit me over the head' feel |
