 There are these big, leafy plants in our yard and I shot this while out today. I liked the textures, which gets emphasized in the B&W.

shot at 300mm. very little PP, desat, adjust levels, contrast, clone out a couple of spots, resize, USM

Although I would like to see it a little sharper, I really like this composition. The bumps and veins make it interesting.

Nice detail. I would have like to see more tonal range. It's not always possible but B&W shots with the deep blacks and bright whites are the ones I like best.

Nice choice for black and white. You're right, the processing emphasizes the texture and lines very well. As others have said, it could be a little sharper, but not a big deal.

Oooooh. Nice! I've never seen one of these photos in Black and White I don't think. It is delightfully unexpected because you're so used to seeing the bright yellow-green color

I like the composition and the lines in this shot. I'm not sure if the blur was intentional but if you were trying to convey the textures and lines a bit sharper image might help this shot.

Great textures and patterns, like the strong diagonal. Agree that bumps add interest.

The textures created by this leaf are quite well developed and the choice of angular composition is a solid choice. My main comment is that I am not sure the image is particularly sharp, espcially with the apparent goal to emphasize the textures. Was this shot hand held or did you shoot from a tripod?

Yep, this is one of the nice things about B&W - really does enhance texture and detail. Very good exposure control and I like the bumpies - they add a nice bit of interest.
