Camera: Nikon D80
Lens: Tamron AF 28-105mm f/4.0-5.6 IF for Nikon
Location: Park Outside - on a bench - Naural light
Date: Apr 3, 2008
Aperture: 6.7
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/91 sec
Galleries: Family, Portraiture
Date Uploaded: Apr 5, 2008

blurred-
desaturated- (faded that so that i got some color back in/touchof color)
cloned out a little bird-poop on the bench (you can still see it if you -really stare- so I didn't -entirely- remove it just blended it a bit so its not as much of a stare at focal point as the subject- = *since I wasn't sure I checked the rules again, and did ask about it -and after looking at it more and more; I don't think it should be a problem at all? since the rules say... in the YOU MAY section = clone out minor imperfections within any capture used, bird poop being something minor and not the 'focal point of the image' or even part of the 'subject' :)
after I desaturated, I faded the desat layer so some of the color would come back and give it a 'touch of color' look rather than an entirely desaturated B&W or entirely color img
sharpened with unsharp mask
selectivly dodged and burnned

There is a wonderful dreamlike quality to this image. You did a great job with the blurring and blending and the subtle desat works very well.

Good composition and application of the rule of thirds

All in all it makes me think of a wonderous distnt memory of childhood

Great job and even though I am sure you wish it had scored higher (which I would add that it deserved to) then for a Free Study this is a good score

I quite like the dreaminess of this - heh, and just noticed your title. Softness suits very well.
