 shot in raw, converted in Aperture. Adjusted exposure, white balance and cropped. exported @ fit in 640 x 640.

I had a lot of fun shooting this. I was at a place in McKinney Tx called the Heard museum of natural science and wild life sanctuary. Very cool place for nature shoots. lots of varied types of enviroments from wetlands to planes. I hope everybody like this shot. I dont really expect very high scores but whatever.

If any body knows what kind of bird this is i would love to know... I also cant wait to goback to shoot there again.

If you are in the dallas area its worth the look

Great capture sticking to the rules of the competition. I think there is too much dead space.

I like that the bright yellow stands out from the background.

Beautiful blurry background really pops that yellow bird out. Crisp sharp focus too. Perhaps a tighter crop to bring the bird closer knockiong out some of that background, IMO. Wonderful capture. Nice job.

Back to comment & bump: Wonderful details captured in the bird. However, a tighter crop would have featured the main subject better. As is, the background is competing for my attention. 7

The direction the bird is facing makes a less centred composition necessary.
