Besides the whole composition and the great contrast, I like that the man has no shadow of his own.
Glad I placed right next to this photo and got to check it out

Remarks: The image appears a little dark (viewed on two monitors) with the white wall perfectly exposed and most of the shadows blocked. This exposure turns the background into an effective mockup, providing a perfect stage for anything in front of it. The silhouetted railing against the reflected light adds a particularly delicious minutiae to the illusion. The long lamp shadow connecting fore and middle, with a little imagination, is pushing the slumped figure centre stage, as if by a crane.
A well seen and, certainly, a made photograph contrasting the human element against its stenciled tabloid environment. |

Very photojournalistic shot. Very crisp and clean throughout the whole photo and the subject is truely centered with a great background to pop them out. Very nice work on this 'city' shot. |

I think the soft shadows of the tree spoils this a bit since it's out of keeping with the strong straight lines elsewhere in the picture. I think this would do really well in another challenge where you could crop out the tree's shadow completely. |
