Does your companion have a name?

The dude that made this statue was probably a pretty cool dude. While everybody else is making them all scary he was like "you know what would be cool? Have this dude sticking his tongue out at people".

Interesting subject, but the background is rather busy

I might have darkened this up a little or made it a little more of a contrast between the shades of gray. This could have been a striking B&W.

There is a lot going on in the background to distract from the stone companion

nice 3d effect but contrast in the exposure could be stronger. 7

Great focus and turning it balck and white to accent the highlights and shadows more than the colors was probably a good idea for the subject. nice job.

It seems to me that many pictures of statues end up somewhat bland - this, for me, is one of them. Perhaps a closer crop or different shot angle would have given this shot a little more ommph, but as it is right now I find the background to be very distracting from the subject and the b&w treatment seems to make this image very flat.
