 This cat used to live under my deck. It froze to death during the winter and I found it under the crawl space of the house. Well, when I found it the temps were in the -20's, so I could not bury it. I placed it off to the edge of my property to wait until thaw. So far we only warm up a few days, then get more snow. So, her sits the poor decomposing kitty. Eventually it will get a proper burial.

I've looked at this now several times, and each time I feel a little jolt when I open it. This is such a graphic look at death it's hard to see. Still a good photo. Good choice for b&w.

Not your usual subject matter.... The black and white processing suits the mood. I might have used some dodging and burning to influence the extent of the lighting here.

extremely yucky ..
i just left a comment on david's dead bird ..
we went for a walk today and there was a dead wallaby on the trail .. minus his intenstines and stomach .. i thought of taking photographs of the flies for my subject which is insects, but it was just too unappealing ... a bit like this .. it is real tho .. :)

Awwww, sorry to hear about the cat but a great find for you. I like the fact that you processed it B/W. Nice detail and focus on the poor dead kitty.

Yikes! What do you say -- nice find? Well, yes and no. Unlike the turtle shot I just commented on, I'd say the cat was very still and well-behaved for this shot!
