 Looking to do an oil and water type image, I went looking for a clear pie pan to spread out the water when I came across this spiral olive plate. I mixed some hand soap into the water to give it some viscosity. I dropped in food coloring to the outer ring to give a deeper blue tones at the outside. I like how it turned out and popped in the rusty red ball bearing to contrast with the smooth cool tones and textures.
The circles of the spiral mimics the circle of the ball bearing. And water is the condition for the rust.

This is certainly different so you get credit for thinking 'out of the box'. It's tough to make out the water for this particular challenge though. 7
