 Thanks to everyone for your votes and comments. As far as the question about being really close, yes, I was able to get within 10 feet of this bird. Many birds come to this pond at this county park and have become used to humans being quite close while they forage for fish. Also, the comment about harsh dodging is not correct, since there wasn't any dodging whatsoever. The white areas are just highlights in the water.

Nice. I shot a Heron devouring a fish recently, but I was not able to get nearly so close as this. Were you pretty close or do you have a huge zoom lens?

Sushi for dinner!! nice colours, but a little harsh on the dodging as there are obviouse white marks and halos around the inner neck
