Here is a shot of the front disc brake on my mountain bike.

I tried to capture the spinning disc with the stillness of the caliper. Overall I like the image. My spousal unit says it is not something that she would hang on her wall, but I could see it hanging in a bike shop or a garage for a cyclist.

PP was pretty simple. First, my bike was upside down when I took the shot and the camera right side up so I had to rotate the canvas 180 degrees. Then I used an adjustment levels layer set to softlight and a hue/saturation layer to tone down the saturation of the red channel a bit, then I ran Nik Viveza and got rid of some of the color reflections on the balck and in the background. If you haven't played with Viveza, I highly recommend checking it out. At least go to the Nik website and look at the demo videos. I then ran Nik DFine 2.0 for noise removal, smart sharppened that and then resized the image, added the border and of course save for web.

I have a problem with the composition of this photo. I dont know if it's because there's too much going on, or there's nothing really that feels like it's the main object of it. I would wish you had wiped the surface, Im not sure what those white spots on it. Lastly, maybe make the colors brighter.

Neat looking view of a common item. Must be either new or on a babied car. It's awfully clean.
