I think I would have applied a little contrast to try and seperate the background and the object.

Does not come across as a macro or extreme close-up - although it is attractive. The photo is done very nicely, although I would have voted it higher if it had meet the macro/extreme close up better.

Nicely lighted, appealing soft colours but macro not apparent from this shot...
